“The Chathams,” is used to refer to Chatham Borough and Chatham Township, both of which are located in Morris County with a population of 9,030 (as of 2018).  They are separate municipalities but do offer some shared public services.

Chatham Borough and Chatham Township share a regionalized school district, the School District of the Chathams.  There are four elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. Chatham High School is consistently ranked in the top 25 public high schools in the state, according to New Jersey Monthly magazine.  Chatham Township also provides for a free public library, a recreation center, and many other public services for its residents. 

Latest Census data shows that the median income in Chatham, NJ is $142,765 and the median home value is $706,800.  Data also shows that just over 60% of the town’s population are families with kids under 18 years old, making this an attractive place for all.

Chatham has its own railway station which receives rail service from NJ Transit on its Morristown Line, which is a branch of the Morris & Essex Lines. Trains on this line go to the Hoboken and New York Penn Terminals, making The Chathams an ideal place to live and commute to work with ease.

One of the unique and charming aspects of Chatham is its quaint downtown.  Filled with shops and restaurants, residents and visitors can participate in activities, shopping and dining all while enjoying a stroll with their pet.
